Intel Medfield Smartphone CPU "Sneak Peek" - May Improve Battery Life 3X

    Intel's Senior Vice President Anand Chandrasekher gave us a "sneak peek" at the new Intel Medfield processor during MWC today. He indicated that this chip will be primarily for smartphones and will be Android compatible. He also wowed the crowd with promises of Intel's commitment to improved battery usage efficiency, and that the chip could be 3 times more efficient than current smartphone processors during normal use. Now word yet on stand-by time.

    This would be an interesting development in the smartphone market, and we will keep you apprised when an official announcement by Intel is made. Check out the video above and tell us what you think of Intel pushing into the smartphone market.
