I have over 6 gigs free space on my Droid 2, yet when i try to download new apps i get and error message saying insufficient space.

Is this a bug? something to do with the settings? Has anyone else had this issue?

Thanks.

Where are you downloading apps from? I know the Play Store had that issue for a bit but that was fixed a couple updates ago.

Back in the OG Droid days we used to get rid of that problem by deleting the ".android.secure" file from the sdcard.

Market fix for Insufficient Space Error - xda-developers

My suggestions are to do the following first:

Settings/apps/ and clear cache & data on market/play store and download and then reboot. If problem persists got to settings/apps/market and uninstall updates and reboot.

If you are rooted go to recovery and clear Dalvik Cache and reboot.
