I am going to install a rom for my coworker's D2G. He has the global because he goes to Mexico every so often. He only cares about retaining his global functionality regarding calls, not necessarily any software specific to the global.

Would the D2G Fission rom be a good selection for him -- revamping his phone and allowing him to keep his international calls capabilities?

Yes, Fission still retains everything. Most of the d2 roms (using the GRD Romer) will too but you have to change a few settings for it to.

    Just want to be sure...

Sorry to bring this thread back up again, but I just want to be sure that once this ROM is installed... he'll still be able to make his calls outside of the US and all, correct?

If you do everything correctly he ought to be able to.
