I wonder what's happening to my niece. She's all day using her smartphone. There was a time that she feels dizzy, maybe because of her habit. Though she also wants to lose weight and she doesn't eat most of the time. I'm worried that she might get sick out of it. I don't think she looks normal. She has a severe decrease in weight. Could this be something serious?

Thanks for your response! Is there a possibility that she has a behavioral disorder? So I have to bring her to a doctor or a mental health professional?

first of all, if she is not eating properly, it can cause health problems. If she is losing a lot of weight too quick, there could be something medically wrong with her. IMO, take her to a medical doctor and make sure she is healthy first. Make sure the doctor knows about the time spend on the smartphone. He/she can make further recommendations if necessary.

It needs attention if her blood pressure has dropped and there has been a breathing problem.

Thanks to all your responses! I browse around a website and it made me realized that my niece needs immediate attention. She might have an Anorexia or she has an addiction to mobile phones. Maybe I'll review it and check with them.

something to consider, taking her to mental health specialist first could put a major strain on your relationship with her. don't know her age but if a teen, especially if at the rebellious age, she could view it (in her teenage frame of mind) as you think she is crazy and fight back I actually have seen this happen.

In the end, do what you think best.
