I have been trying for 2 hours to get my droid to connect to my computer:icon_evil: I downloaded RSD lite and all the files. RSD will not recognize my device. I keep getting the balloon saying hardware not connected, found to hardware wizard:mad: What do I do?

I downloaded the 32. When do I use these? When I plug my phone in it says found new hardware, and then the wizard comes up with three options. I let the computer search and it found nothing:huh: I must be brain dead:mad:

The drivers are an executable. Be sure to run it before trying to connect your phone.

When I am in RSD I hit show device, but nothing. Any ideas why it is not recognizing my droid?

Hmm, forgive the basic questions, but just so we're on the same page:

    Phone is connected to PC?
Phone is in bootloader? (Hold up on your dpad as the phone reboots)

Yes its in bootloader, but Rsd does not show the device, just the sprecovery file on the right. If I am trying to change themes and put on one of the custom ROMs am I doing this in the correct order. Should I root first or do this sprecovery. I am on stock 2.1

If you haven't gone through the 3rd link in my signature check that out. there are other threads that might help too. Are you trying to get it to recognize your phone or computer? You shouldn't have to show device, it should just show up.

and...as for the thread topic my only thought was "set up Qik first so we can watch" :)

Yea the rsd lite will not recognize my phone. I am on a stock 2.1 trying to go back to 2.0.1 so I can install my roms that I had..I went to your third link and tried the update.zip one and gave me an error.

If your having so much trouble you just want stock do a wipe. Go to setting, privacy, factory reset. That will take you back to stock.

BACK UP APPS. Use titainum backup to do this. Then use dmupdater or clockworkmod to root. Search this forum for dmupdater, clockwokmod on the market. Root with them no need for rsdlite.

Try again anyway to see if it recognizes your phone in bootloader. Install drivers for your PC. Turn phone off . Turn on hold up on d pad. Then hit search for device on rsdlite. See if that works. Rsdlite not needed with this method dmupdater and clockworkmod flash the recovery for you.
