I'm already rooted with 2.2, but I just received the 2.2 OTA alert?

As the title states, I'm already running Pete's stock deodexed FRG01B 2.2 ROM. I thought that would prevent me from getting any new OTA software alerts, but for some reason I just received one stating that a 45MB file was ready to install. Was it asking me to install FRG22? I thought they pulled the plug on that one...

It's my understanding that being rooted doesn't stop you from getting the notification nor downloading the OTA. However, Sprecovery or Clockwork will prevent the OTA from installing. In fact you are supposed to download the OTA or it will not stop polling your phone.

While being rooted doesn't stop the OTAs, custom ROMs usually don't receive them. But since this is a custom stock ROM, the rules may be a little different here.

That's actually a good thing, it means they are still pushing the OTA despite the rumors to the contrary.

Cool, thanks for the replies. Does anyone know the location of the update file? I want to check it out and see if it was FRG01B or FRG22. I thought it would be under the root directory, but it wasn't.

It should be on your SD card. If not on its root, try the "download" folder.

I just heard from 3 people that they just got the OTA 2.2 notification. VZW must have begun the update again...

I'm rooted with FRG22 and also received the update notification. I accepted and proceeded with install. SPrecovery blocked it and I rebooted. I went to 'About Phone'>'System Updates' and it now says "Your system is up to date"

    Hopefully no additional notifications.

However, I'm not sure if someone who got root access using "Easy Root" would be blocked from installing the update since their recovery would be stock as opposed to SPrecovery or Clockwork...

I just received yet ANOTHER alert even though I installed/aborted it with sprecovery a few days ago. Does anyone know why?
