I've had my moto droid since Feb 19. I was wondering if it is ok to go ahead and root my droid? I work 12 hour shifts and my add like 2 hours to that for being awake, so in 14 hours it dies. Is that normal or is my battery still not to fully broke in etc? Thanks, Mike

:welcome: to the forum. Whether or not you should root your phone is a decision you should make and only after you've done some reading up on what is involved. I believe that rooting will lead to overclocking and that by it's very nature uses more battery life.

I think if you're pulling 14 hours off the battery and just use it normally (not a lot of excessive texting, phone calls, web surfing) then that's probably about right. That's about what I get off of mine in a days time. Usually in the afternoon I give it another boost to help me get it through the night when I really use it a lot.

well I want to root. I just was wondering if it was too soon to root since the phone it still brand new and wasn't sure if the phone needed to be broke in or anything.

No, it's not necessary to have a "break in" period, lol. If you feel you're ready to root then go for it. :)

Can I still do it off of my phone like SholesMod does? Or am I supposed to connect it to my computer?
