Ignore Market Updates

OK, this might sound strange but i want to know if it is possible to set an app to never show me that there is an update in the market? I have an app that I never want to update so I don’t want to see the little icon telling me that there is an update for this app. I still want to know about my other apps, just not this one in particular. Anyone know if this is possible?

I know you can change some apps to manual but I do not know how to stop the update available notification.

If you use appbrain there is an "X" along the right side of each app, if you press it a dialog box will pop up giving you the option to "never update this app"

I don't believe the standard market app has anything equivalent

Don't mean to necro my own old thread, but it looks like if you root then TI will let you "detach" an app from the market. Looks to work. I no longer see the app in the market so it no longer tells me there is an update.

The new Market allows you to disable notifications but it's an all-or-nothing deal.
