Sometimes a bad file can cause issues. Or not getting the "full" SBF file. Important to make sure its not just a system sbf file...

Dumb question: do you have to do a "*228" after you flash?

Yes, I've done it like 5 times. It says "activated successfully" but I still can't get a mobile signal.

I would suggest starting a thread here, Rescue Squad Help , and see what they say. Unless someone can help you here.

I'd check to see if there is anything going on settings->about phone->status It'll tell you stuff like signal strength and service state. It almost sounds like either it's stuck in airplane mode or the cell radio isn't turned on (anyone: that radio would be different from the wifi one right?)

Yup, that's different from the wifi radio.

Man, my phone is flying after doing this. Even got my AnTuTu and Quadrant scores up a good amount lol

I still Don't have notification sounds anymore. Multiple reboots and still nothing. It does seem to run a little better, but I think I just have too many apps linked to the slow ass stock SD card via link2sd, along with a 128mb swap partition. Maybe a class 6 SD card would be better off?

Interesting because my notification sounds return after any Nandroid restore. I then turn the sound off and they stay off until many next restore.

Is a scandisk sd considered class 6? I'm using a PATRIOT sd which is what came with it. I don't think that's a class 6. Can't even get that multiple ROM application BOOT MANAGER to run right with this card.
