Are we all just waiting on Verizon or Motorola to throw us a bone?

Or is there hope that developers can help really help us out?

    Is the bootloader even encrypted?

Yes....locked and encrypted. Don't hold your breath for anything from VZW or Motorola anytime soon. Moto said they would offer an unlock solution by the end of last year "if the carrier allowed" well...its the end of March and nada.

Yeah, it's looking more and more likely that I'll go with Sony for my next phone. Ridiculously sexy hardware along with source code, beta Roms, and kernels directly from Sony? Yes, please. I believe I'll be kissing Moto goodbye.

    MIUI tested, mother approved.

Wait, encrypted too? I thought it was just locked, and not encrypted...

They've been locked and encrypted since the DX came out. Have not heard any different.
