If I use DMU, will I have to reconfigure all my apps?

    For example, will I have to re-enter my yahoo email info and my youtube info and my gmail info?

    Only if you delete the /data folder.

    I've found in my experience that the only way to get a ROM to work well and quickly is to wipe everything completely and reinstall. That being said, I just tried MyBackup Pro for $4 on the app store, and it seems to have saved those settings for me.

    the droid mod app allows you to wipe data and save your apps.

    For what it's worth, when I used the DMU to root I didn't wipe anything and my phone has been working perfectly. These things seem to affect everyone a little differently so it might work for you or might not. I also have used my back up pro from the market and it seems like a great app.
