Now that news is coming out that ClockworkMod Recovery is on the droid x. If I head out to verizon and pick up one of the new droid x and it has the update applied. That verizon released shortley after it came out. Can I root or is there a .sbf for it using RSDLite, or would it not have to have that update applied.

Currently I have a droid 1 running cyanogenmod RC2 1.1ghz chevy kernel and Im happy but my battery is still bad after buying a sedio battery. I can live without the keyboard though I do like it alot.

As far as I know the bootloader is still locked on the X so therefore you would not be able to apply a custom rom. I think you are able to overclock it and wireless tether but I am not sure.

I can add the apps i want. I just need android wireless tether not verizons junk. I just need to know if with the update applied it can be rooted. The root and update were so close together.
