I think some people that like to use the app bump - or for any other reason want to share their contact information with others, can easily transfer their information to someone else???? Just a guess...... I feel weird having a me contact with no information filled out, but I can't bring myself to put my own information there.... Perhaps in the unlikely event I lose my phone and someone wants to return it, I could have some other peice of contact information so that they can get a hold of me...

I think these are two of the primary reasons for why it's there. I think the biggest one has been that it enables someone who finds the phone to know who the owner is and contact them. Also, with apps that can transfer information, and particularly with NFC starting to become more widely available, it's a quick way to share your contact information with someone.

In your People app, is there not a section called Me above the A's?
