Downloaded a big update from Verizon today and hoped it would be ICS. 'Twas not. Anyone know if we'll get it?

Not sure if it'll get ICS. Are you on Gingerbread now?

Here's a recent article on the phone mfg's and carriers take on the ICS
    http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2397729,00.asp
I'm quoting one line that caught my attention.
"We were thinking 1-GHz single-core as a baseline for Ice Cream Sandwich..."
With the commando being 800mhz it's an "iffy" possibility but who knows?

"Iffy" is right , it may not have the horsepower needed, although, as Chaz noted , this was posted in PC Mag ....
"LG, for example, recently promised updates for its popular Optimus line, despite its 2010 launch and 600MHz processors. (We [PC Mag?] were thinking 1-GHz single-core as a baseline for Ice Cream Sandwich, since we've seen official demos of actual devices with that class of chip running Android 4.0.)"
