    Finally took the plunge to root. Got root - no problem. Got P3Droid kernel on - no problem. Tried to put on Liquid Froyo Rom - Now just keeps showing The Eye and Droid name animation over and over, for more than 15 minutes. Tried battery pull and still same thing. I did it the same way as anything else -renamed to update.zip and installed it in recovery. Does it take a long time to install or is it stuck?

    Did you wipe data and cache before the install ?

    If not go back and try it this way, it makes the world of difference

    do a complete wipe and re-flash LFY........

    After you get device back on it's feet and fully synced up do a Nandroid back-up.

    Then flash your kernel(s).

    It sounds like your kernel isn't powering the phone up and it's stuck in a bootloop it happened to me...try downloading a LV and not a ULV kernel
