What can i do to fix this! I didnt change any settings, and it was working fine before i restarted it. I just did it to see what the start screen looked like.

You have to call and have the phone programed OTA.... *228 option 1 IIRC

That happened to me today. I was moving files over from my Macbook. I turned it off for a min and then turned it back on and I couldn't send or receive calls or texts. Everything else worked fine. I called customer service and nothing they tried worked. I went to the store (in the snow) and on my way there it was working again. So weird.

How could he call *228 if there was no service...

When in doubt, remove the battery and start fresh. This is not the same as powering down and it can fix a lot of simple problems that otherwise can not be diagnosed.
