I need help.

I have been trying to delete a thread of text messages lately. The problem I am having is that everytime I try my screen goes black. I leave it alone thinking that its deleting the messages but after about 10 minutes it reverts to the home screen and all those messages are still there.

This is getting quite annoying as it is making my test messages slow to open.

Any thoughts on how to get those deleted?
