I havent used MAPS in days but it shows as the highest battery user

What's up with that? It's bothering me. I haven't opened it in days, probably weeks, and it says it's the highest used app in the battery left widget. Even more than the screen??

what does your about phone - battery usage say? i don't trust third-part battery apps, myself.

That is info I am getting from the about phone area. battery left just brings you there. When I go to it through settings I get tot he same place and same results.

This is one of the few times I would advocate a task killer. Browsers have been known to leave GPS on when they are closed. Perhaps Google Maps is going the same.

I uninstalled the updates and re-installed them, also this was the cahrge I was planning to run my phone dead so I did that, hence a restart and we'll see once the battery is full again.
