I just got the R2D2 Droid and I heard that verizon is coming out with a new better type of droid.... is it true? Which phone is it? Is it good? And.. should I get it?

Bare truth? Fact is, Yes, Verizon is coming out with new phones that are technologically more advanced than the R2D2 Droid2 you just bought.

Do you need to jump right out there and go buy 1 of them?
Hell No!...unless you just like to spend extraneous amounts of money for the latest and greatest tech.

There will always be new, higher end devices coming out every 3-6 months...you will never be able to stay "up-to-date" without spending a lot of money..but it is your money to spend... The Droid 2 you just bought is a very good device...it will more than likely do everything you could hope to throw at it...why not give it a go for a few months and then see about whether or not you might need to trade up...

As fast as new phones are coming out now, you would be in this situation even if you waited. The best advice is to pay the extra and only go with 1 year contracts (where & when you can).

Good and just enjoy your new phone!!:)

More than one of them WILL be better. That being said, please see the post above.

I'm still holding on to my original Droid, was waiting for the Bionic but now I've decided to just get the Xoom tablet (wifi model) and stay with my OG Droid. The Xoom specs will stay current longer than any phone in my honest opinion.

Thunderbolt & Atrix are not droids, they are android but not apart of the Droid line.

For Verizon you got the Thunderbolt(not a Droid), the Bionic, the DX2, the D3, and the Incredible 2 coming out this year. So all current Droids getting updates this year. The only 4G Droid will be the Bionic....and the Thunderbolt is also 4G.

That'd be too easy.....they like making us make these tough decisions.
Any phone you pick you should be happy with for a while.
I might return the R2D2 and get a Thunderbolt...but that's me. Its a tough choice though.
