The Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Huawei, just released a press statement sharing the global availability of their mid-range device, (with fairly high-end specs), the Ascend P1. This phone has some very good specs, although isn't quite as robust as their Ascend D1 quad-core phone. The Ascend P1 does have a very sleek and elegant design, however, and still has very respectable features. Here's a breakdown:
    • 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4460 Cortext-A9 processor
    • 7.69mm thin and 64.8 mm long
    • 4.3-inch super AMOLED 960 x 540 touch screen with Corning® Gorilla® Glass
    • 8-megapixel BSI rear-facing camera
    • Dolby Mobile 3.0 + audio tech
They didn't share pricing or carriers yet, and there is no word on when it will come to North America. Their press release does hint at it by saying, "availability in other markets to follow." It's a pretty aesthetically pleasing design, although that is obviously subjective. What do you guys think of this one? Would any of you guys like to see this come to Big Red?
