The next hot phone that isn't a Nexus device from Huawei is the Honor 8. The latest intel on this device pegs a July 5th reveal date, and a July 12th launch date. We also have a breakdown of specs to share, followed by pricing.

Here are the specs:
  • 5.2-inch 1080 x 1920 display
  • Huawei-made Kirin 950 or 955 chipset
  • 4GB of RAM
  • USB Type-C data port
  • dual 12MP cameras at the back
  • 3200mAh battery with fast charge
  • Infrared port, fingerprint sensor
  • dual glass design with a metal body and very thin bezels
Here's what we know about pricing, according to the rumors (4 price tiers):
  1. 32GB of storage, and NO NFC chip = $304 (¥1,999)
  2. 32GB of storage with NFC chip = $334 (¥2,199)
  3. 64GB of storage with NFC chip = $380 (¥2,499)
  4. 128GB of storage and a QHD (1440 x 2560) resolution display = $425 (¥2,799)
While there is no word on whether it will come to the U.S., it most likely will in some capacity. We will keep you apprised.

I'll never purchase a Chinese device but I think it's a good move on Huawei's part....picking up where Sammy left off, being that Sammy can't even release 2 variants these days.
