We aren't sure if HTC's marketing team thought they were being funny, or if they are simply trying to market to an ultra-niche audience of what they think Americans are like. Either way, the video above is so bad it'll make you cringe and shudder at the same time.

This commercial insults the intelligence of so many people in so many ways, it just proves that HTC's marketing team "simply don't get it." Some video creations are so bad they retain some level of humor, but this one can't even achieve that. Many of us here at HQ couldn't even finish watching it!

What's even worse is they actually made a video of the "making of" this terrible atrocity! We included that in the thread below in case you want to torture yourself some more.

This has to be a joke. Reading the comments on the video is even more disturbing.

I think most of the positive comments must be paid by HTC, because that video is so bad it's unbelievable.

Wow....I don't even know how to reply to that ridiculous video. That was bad.
Perhaps it was posted as a type of "smartphone rap battle" and they're expecting Samsung, Moto, LG etc to respond with a similar video?
(of course I'm just grasping at straws here) lol

"Took 6 times to get it right", going after the Nexus 6 there? That video was bold, I will give them that. However, far too terrible to do any good for me, if anything it makes me hate the phone even more.

Plus all the build quality issues I had with the 3 Nexus 9 devices (Made by HTC) I had to send back to Amazon. Pass.

This thread is over-sensationalized. It's a parody of a parody rap video. It's geared towards those who don't follow specs and blogs. It is what it is.

This is exactly what a company whose behind in market shares does in life! You make your product feel like it's superior to the others in hopes the masses will start to agree.

Just like how Sprint is directly targeting ATT & Verizon users w/their latest commercials. The premise of cutting a family cell phone bill in half at least gets someone in the family plan to research pricing and downfalls....which might mean actually going to the store, seeing the phones, being told about how the signal strength is in your town, and being told what the prices would be....

I guess HTC in this case should have what? I'm legitly curious...especially since the OP couldn't convey his or her's feelings past "it insults the intelligence" How so? Are we talking about phone wise....features wise....parody wise....??? The "Hold the Crown" aspect? What are we insulted about?

Based off everyone else's comments and what not I just instantly thought of the end of the blogspot commercials

Let's talk about that camera you held back on in the M8, HTC. The sole reason it wasn't purchased in our household. Ultrapixels...mmmmHmmmm.

These types of videos never work. Instead of trying to talk bad about other OEM's phones talk about what yours brings to the table.
