My TB is not rooted and I use a Mac. I was able to install Easy Tether from the Amazon market to connect my Mac. You might want to look at their website to set up the connection. It was pretty easy to do. Easy Tether isn't free but I grabbed it for 1/2 off a few weeks ago when it was on sale at Amazon. This was one of my reasons for not rooting but now that I have this....no more excuses, right?

I don't think HTC Sync works with Mac. I'm pretty sure you need to use iSync which should be loaded on your Mac already.

@FrellingFrakker: iSync doesn't support these phones either. There are third-party apps and iSync add-ons, but they cost money.

@paddyo75: When you get that error, just click "ignore" and your Thunderbolt will actually mount on the desktop momentarily. It's a stupid annoyance, but not a fatal error.
