you can run launcher pro... its not a theme but a home replacement... it gives you some features that are Sense like... scrollable widgets... sense like home screen previews... etc...

well as of right now there is a HTC sense rom but it has some pretty major issues with not being able to make call while data is turned on... but if you really want the icons i would look into some of the themes that are out there... i think jrummy uses some sense type icons on his roms. also, my wife has an eris which uses sense and launcher pro gives you a lot of the same things as far as changing screens and such...

Yeah, unfortunately though the only way to achieve what you TRUELY want is to try out the Zeusdroid Alpha release of the Desire port. I run it from time to time to change it up... the ONLY drawback is that phone calls cannot be made unless data is turned OFF. (HTC gives you a widget to make this very manageable... you just click data on/off)

otherwise you get everything you want from the incredible onto a droid...

there's a lot to read on it... installation isn't for newbs... you don't have to do much other then read and you'll be fine. its fun to play around with...

just remember, if you have data on, people will get your voicemail.

messaging works with data on AND off.

i believe picture messaging does not work either, but you CAN send pictures through your email (so i don't see it as a big deal)

otherwise you get sense UI and all that comes with it.

Nevermind I see the voicemail thing. Wow so if data's off you can get calls and stuff but can't go on the internet or use apps huh?

Yes... remember it was a build that stalled in Alpha release due to 2.2 coming out and also a RIL issue. The RIL is what allows the swap between data and 1/x...

if you have a wifi network this ROM is great, otherwise, yeah it is tough to manage data/calls... but as you said... people can leave you a VM and you can get back to them right away.
