HTC officially revealed their HTC One Mini 2 device. It definitely shares an aesthetic styling with the HTC One (M8), but that's about all they share. Of course, this is meant to be a mid-range device so we can't expect it to match up too precisely with it's big brother. Here are the specs:

  • 4.5-inch 720p HD touchscreen
  • 13 MP rear camera with LED flash and 1080p Full HD video recording
  • 5 MP front camera
  • 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor
  • 1 GB of RAM
  • 16 GB of built-in storage space
  • A microSD card slot
  • 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC
  • BoomSound front stereo speakers
  • 2,100 mAh battery
  • Android 4.4 KitKat with HTC Sense 6 on top of it
  • Dimensions are 137.43×65.04×10.6 mm, and it weighs 137 grams
Right now details on availability are slim. All we know is that the device will first come to the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Asia), where it will be available sometime in June at an unspecified price. There are no details on when/if it will actually come North America. We'll keep you posted.

Here are a few more pics below in the thread of the other color variants.

You know, I kinda like it. The only stat I don't think should have been reduced is the RAM. I'm sorry but 2gigs should be the minimum no matter what phone it is if its being released in 2014 and beyond. Other than that, it looks like a very capable little phone. I'm sure there will be people pointing out that the rear camera isn't the ultra pixel camera and is actually an upgrade but I guess its a matter of taste. I'm rather fond of the camera on my M8.
