HTC One Drops to $499 Off Contract; HTC May Keep it Around at a Lower Price Later

    If the latest intel is accurate, then it appears HTC is planning on copying Apple's business model even further. Besides the fact that they will simply be calling the next-gen HTC One by it's same name, they also apparently are planning to keep the older one around as a "more affordable" mid-range option. This obviously follows Apple's example. This isn't a bad idea, especially considering that the HTC One is still a venerable device.

    On top of this, it looks like they have already started dropping the price for the current HTC One. According to HTC themselves, you can now get it for just $499.99 unlocked. The all new HTC One will be announced on March 25th.

    $500 for a year old phone? Doesnt have my attention.
