    Hey,
Could someone port the live wallpaper from the htc desire(the one with the rainbow colors and circles) to the droid.
    That would be awesome!!:)

Yea that is it, but we need it ported over to the Droid. And I myself am not very educated in those types of things. You would also need a different version for all the major ROM's and it would also probably replace the oh-so popular neural network Live Wallpaper. I think with those two reasons is why no one has ported it.

Though I am sure someone will sooner or later, though I am not that person.

i tried to... failed, but heres what happened..

got it on teh droid and it doesnt replace nerual network, at first FC after some playing around got it so it didn't FC when selecting to use it, so i thought it would work fine..

hit apply and screen was black thought maybe it just needed to load so let it set, rebooted, tried again, and again...

the screen remains black.. nothing else..

so semi, succesful, at first i just had FC got rid of those now i just need the graphics to show.. but i stopped trying..

It isn't showing because the Desire, Nexus et al. have a slightly smaller resolution than the Droid. This was the same issue experienced at first with the Nexus LWP. Droid is 480x854 whereas the Snapdragon phones are 480x800.

if you changed the resolution of the image would it work then? i.e. resize the image to the droid specs?

Yes, I believe so. I'm pretty sure that's how Koush fixed the Nexus LWP.

I've been waiting for someone to be able to port this, this LWP is bad ass. Hopefully someone could do this for some beer money?

BTW, I d/led the LWP and I extracted the framework. Where are the images at, I don't see anything except xml files? I was going to try resize them.

there are some LWPs that JUST DONT WORK ON DROID.
Its a gpu or snapdragon-only cpu thing, i.e. Magic Tunnel

is it the xml files that "tell" the wallpaper what to do? are they done in java or c++? i'm talking outta my ass here for the most part but i don't see where it would/should/could be that hard to change some code if it needed it to make it work. i was bored so for shiggles i've been looking at it. the only image i find in the drawable-hdpi folder are some thumbnails, the biggest of which has 227 x 180 resolution.

i don't really know what the hell i'm doing so no surprise that's all i've found.

im assuming the code is making the wallpaper do most of the work, because i just find a small thumbnail, like you said in the folder, nothing else. It's a shame, this is the only LWP I like. I wonder if someone could make a LWP similar to it, mimicking the colors and shapes, that would work on the Droid?

i dunno man. when i open the xml files in notepad or eclipse i just get a bunch of gobbledy gook. probably something the big dogs will have to handle :(
i've done the hello android tutorial and started on another, but so far this is over my head. shame cause it seems like it should be really simple to figure out or at the very least rig it up to half ass work.
