Show of hands: who else thinks it's completely ridiculous that a smartphone manufacturer doesn't have a smartphone-friendly web site?

Why in the world do they put htc.com in the browser's default bookmarks if it's basically unusable? It just makes them look incompetent.

Umm, do you have flash enabled? If so then you can definitely view htc.com perfectly on your Incredible's browser.

If 90+% of the page is unreadable, I consider that "ridiculous" rather than "perfect". The web site for a smartphone manufacturer should display legibly by default on their own smartphones, without having to zoom & pan around.

Here is exactly what HTC.com looks like on the Incredible:

However, I am forced to admit that neither Apple nor RiM do any better with their web sites. It's so commonplace for web designs to assume everyone has an XGA display that nearly everyone, from consumers to geeks to executives, doesn't even notice there's a problem. :icon_ nono2:

I hate mobile versions of websites.

Same, I really don't see a difference though. Of course you have to zoom and pan around, I mean the phone manufacturers probably leave it like that to show the capabilities of the smart phone. It's really nothing you should get worked up about.

But if you're really that mad about it, try mobilizing it at "www.t9space.com".
