There's so much relevant HTC news today we are going to crank them out in a quick series rather than a double-or triple hitter single story. The first bit of news for HTC is that Qualcomm is apparently a big believer in the company (not surprising since HTC typically buys nothing but Qualcomm). According to a new report, the Snapdragon maker plans to help HTC with their marketing efforts to help elevate the company out of their current hole. Here's a quote with the details,

Qualcomm will help smartphone vendor HTC promote sales of the new HTC One, a smartphone equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor, through recommending the smartphone in advertising films, according to market sources.

Qualcomm is extending its cooperation with HTC from technology, product and carrier relationship development to marketing with the firsts of a series of promotional films being presented at the ongoing Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2013, said Shen Jin, vice president of Qualcomm Greater China.

In addition to HTC, LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics are also using Qualcomm's Snapdragon 600 processors in their Optimus G Pro and Galaxy S4 smartphones, respectively, indicated the sources.

However, HTC has been a close partner with Qualcomm and is among the first wave of smartphone vendors to adopt new smartphone solutions coming out from Qualcomm, the sources added.

It's great to see this kind of collaboration in the mobile industry. It would be easy for Qualcomm to simply write-off HTC and let them fend for themselves, but HTC has been one of their most loyal customers, so this move makes sense for both companies. Let's cross our fingers that this doesn't alienate any of Qualcomm's other clients.
