Previously, we have heard a number of rumors that HP would jump back into the tablet market with an Android tablet of their own. Today at MWC, they made that rumor official news. HP is making a smart play by jumping back into the world of mobile computing after their exodus with the HP Touchpad. This time they are dumping WebOS in favor of Android and an aggressive price-point of $169.99. The specs are very reminiscent of the Nexus 7, but the price is obviously a bit more competitive. Here's a breakdown of features,
    • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
    • 7-inch 1024 x 600 display
    • 1.6 GHz dual-core Cortex-A9 processor
    • 1 GB of RAM
    • 8 GB of storage
    • A micro-SD card slot for expandable storage
    • 3-megapixel camera on the back
    • VGA camera on the front
    • Beats Audio
    • The device weighs just 13 oz
This looks like a fairly good re-entry back into the market. What do you guys think? Is their room for HP in the Android tablet world?

    Full Press Release,

My gawd how the world turns. I remember the sheer madness over the Touchpad liquidation, and the insane rush to jacknife Android onto it. But a new tablet for under $200 is a good start!
