This needs to be stickyed somewhere.

How do you install the new version of preinstalled apps??
I.E facebook or launcher Pro.

I tried uninstalling them from the settings menu and no luck.
I tried uninstalling FB from the market. no luck!!!!
THIS is th most frustrating thing about roms.

(not complaining just stating my opinion.)

Go to Ultimate Settings at the top of the settings menu. Inside there is a choice to install / uninstall different apps. It will allow u to choose Facebook as an option to uninstall. Then download from the Market.

One very important piece of info here is that sometimes you will have to reboot in order to install the new program. So if you get one that still won't install after you have removed the original reboot and try again.

Uninstalling from market
Uninstalling from UD settings
Rebooting
No file in the system>app folder
File in the data>app folder.

I did not wipe when I installed 2.5

Wiping shouldn't matter in this case. The tried and true ways are as one poster said: Uninstall from Titanium or Root Explorer (root explorer should be able to see all apps in system where others may not).
Then reboot and install from market.

I have done the Titanium method MANY times on multiple roms.

I have root explorer.
I don't see FB or launcher pro in the system>app folder.
I know they can be under other names sometimes but they are just not there??

Try Titanium. I know it works. As for Root Explorer...maybe you need to enable GodMode?

But again...Titanium works
