Hi, has anyone used the sdk's emulator to test different theme? There is a system.img being called each time when the emulator is up. If we can decompose this system.img and replace the png and/or xml inside of the res directory, followed by packing all these back together, I think it just makes the testing a lot easier.

Please let me know how to decompose the system.img if it is possible.

    Thanks!

i just got the emulator for the same reason..the ability to test themes with out the hassle of loading the phone and hoping it dont boot lock so you have to try again... i didn't know where the system folder was i read a post on opening the boot.img from the phone assuming the file format is the same i would assume the process is.....if i figure it out i'll post here
there is a res folder in the data folder but thats not being used i guess cuz changes have no effect

{edit} it doesn't look the same...but if you extract android.jar there is another /res image pack..and again it doesn't seem they work either
