I have a rooted droid 1 with a custom rom. every 2 minutes it pops up and asks me to update to 2.2 (my custom rom is already at 2.2). How can I stop this from happening? I am afraid I will accidentally click install now one of these times + it's annoying as hell.

If you have sprecovery or clockwork (not sure about clockwork but Koush the designer says it will) then the ota will fail its checks. So just allow it to install.

Like you, I have a rooted Droid 1. Since rooting (Feb) I've not received any OTA update notifications. Recently, I've read many posts that contained the question you raided.

The consensus -- let the download complete and, due to being rooted, it will fail. If you've uncomfortable make a backup first.
