Whats the easiest way to root my phone for my first time
what's an xt2?
what system version 2.2.2/ 1.2.148, 2.3.3/1.3.232, 2.3.4/1.3.380, or 2.3.5/1.3.418
settings/ about phone
edit: try Pete’s Root Tools
read HowTo: Root your Motorola Droid X2
Yes sorry its a x2 an ya its the newest version
An its a 1.3.418 version.
sorry you have to SBF back to 2.3.4, but you may not lose data
don't wipe data unless, phone bootloops
1 SBF [GUIDE] How to SBF an X2
2 root with Pete’s Root Tools
3 install Voodoo OTA Root Keeper, protect root (backup su), temp unroot (keeps backup)
4 use update option in settings/ about phone/ system update
or just put update on root sd card (not in a folder) and install update via android recovery (see How do I boot into stock recovery?)
5 restore root with voodoo
Ok thank you, you explained it real good
glad to help
