    More questions lol:
Can we switch roms after choosing one? Because right now I'm looking at roms through ROM Manager

Yes, you can but it's important to make a backup through recovery and wipe system data and cache, format system and boot. I use RaidZero's recovery it's the best. Just read up on this before you flash anything. Also I've heard some bad things about using ROM Manager to flash ROMs, you can flash them through a recovery, much safer.

Just did my D1 2.2.2 with FRG83G using Superoneclick and it worked great after I made sure to update the Motorola drivers, otherwise it gets stuck at "waiting for device."

Anyway, my question now is this: I do not want to install custom ROMs or change kernels or anything like that. I do have wireless tether, ad free and set CPU running on stock kernel and I am happy. I don't want thenmes, etc.. Do I have to make nandroid backup or use SPRecovery, clockwork recovery or Titanium backup or what? if I don't want to change the ROM or kernels is it necessary to backup? Thanks.

No, but it never hurts to backup your phone so you don't lose apps, settings, or other things that you don't want to lose incase something happens with your phone. If you rooted then SPRecovery is already on your phone.

In case anybody here still hasn't successfully found a method of rooting:

In the description there is a link to a text file, which has links to everything that needs to be downloaded.

There is no way to do it. The holes have been plugged. You have to use a program like superoneclick or the method outlined in my signature.
