I unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP on my Moto X Pure Edition XT-1575 with intentions of rooting it, but never did. I've recently been getting notifications to install an OTA update and can't do it with TWRP.
What's the easiest method to get my stock recovery back so I can install the update?

Moto X Pure Edition XT-1575
Android 6.0
Kernel: 3.10.84-perf-g6898f68
System: 24.201.3
Build: MPHS 24.201.3

Do you have access to the factory images, if so you can flash recovery only and then take the OTA. Or you can just flash the image to your phone. Make sure to take out the -w for wipe and take out userdata.img So you can update without erasing data.

Thanks for your reply!

I don't have access to the factory images. Where can I get them? Also, do I need to be rooted to do this? I need this explained to me on a 1st grade level. I apologize for my inexperience.

I can help you but I can't find any stock rom images for the MXPE, at least ones from an official site.

This is what I used for my Moto X. Wasn't the pure edition though. Maybe this might help. You can sign in with your Google account

Thanks for all your help. Do I need to flash the factory images using RSD Lite? Can you explain in detail how to do this? I apologize for my ignorance

Thanks, I'm gonna give it a try after I get home from work. I'm unsure of myself because I kinda bricked the phone trying to root it last month. Luckily I made a backup beforehand.

I'd make a folder on your C Drive, name it something easy & unzip the files I linked to there. It'll make things easier later. Holler if you have any questions

I'll probably be hollering because I don't know how to do this in fast boot.

Put your phone in fastboot, usually power off and hold power + down volume
Create the folder like I explained then open that folder, with the files unzipped/moved to there, and in that folder hold shift then right click, select the option to open command prompt there.
Once that opens, type fastboot devices and see if it says anything is connected. You need USB debugging enabled in developers settings. But you may have that already if you have TWRP
