How to install App from another source?

I have a .jad file for a specialized app that I want to install on the Droid. Is this going to be possible?

I just used Astro file manager to get to a file I was needing to install that I had put on my SD card.

Android uses apk files for apps. Not sure if it will know what to do with a jad file. Are you sure it is for Android?

I can see the file but get a msg "application not available". Are .jad files specific to the Blackberry?

I know it was written for a BlackBerry and was hoping I could run it on the Droid.

Extremely unlikely. Do you know what language the application is written in?

yea theres no chance of this working. Android apps are only apk
