Verizon has been doing everything within their power to eliminate grandfathered unlimited data plans. For a premium of $20 extra per month you can keep your unlimited data. If you are on a legacy Alltel plan like me nothing has changed for you. If you are on an updated tiered data plan then your plan includes wifi tethering. Of course carriers would be happy for you to quickly burn through your data while tethering. If you are on an unlimited data plan your plan does not include wifi tethering.

There are ways around this. The app Fox Fi works for many devices including my Galaxy Note 5 for free wifi tethering without root. If you have already updated your Nexus 6 to Android 6.0 Marshmallow you may be looking for a way to enable tethering on your device. There is now a working method. The method involves typing a simple adb command. Head to the link below for the full tutorial. This should only take you about 5 minutes.
