How to: Create a group so I can text just specific people

I was wondering if anyone knows how to create a listserv type contact so I don't have to select everyone in my contact list I want to text. ie: If I want to just send a text to coworkers, have a coworker category I can select. Or a softball category if I want to send a text to a softball team, etc. Please help!

You can setup groups in hancent.

I currently use handcent but can't seem to find that option?

To send a mass text to a group, compose a new message, then hit the blue '+' sign on the top right-hand corner of your screen where you add who you're sending the message to. That brings up a list of your contacts. From there, hit the second tab labled 'Groups' and it should show you all the groups you've created in gmail (provided you've synced them). Check all the groups you want to send the message to, then hit the menu button at the bottom of your phone and 'End Select'...this will then insert all the numbers from your group into your SMS message.
