I have the NBA mobile app that allows me to watch games, but it blacks out local games because of copyrights issues or some bs like that. Anyway, is there an app that allows me to change my location so that I can watch games from my region?

    Thanks

Im not sure if this would work but you could try to turn off your GPS and network location, run the app.. see if it asks you to manualy enter your location and go that route.

It most likely detects your location from you IP address. If you are trying to watch them and you are connected to 3G, maybe try it from Wi-Fi, or vice versa. If one of those works but one doesn't, then it detects it via IP Address. In that case, there isn't much you could feasibly do.

I'm sure the NBA has this angle covered... there probably isn't a way. Even if you were able to 'hide' your phones location.... the tower it's receiving a signal from would be known, thus giving away where you are.

Thing is, it can be done on the iPhone with the same application.

Really? Well maybe you should try posting this thread in the Hack's section. Someone there might have an answer :)

I have not seen or heard of any way to do it.

Have you tired using a proxy server?

There is a shortcut of everything, try using hidemyass.com in hiding my IP Address. It is very reliable and I feel safe while browsing the net.
They can be installed on smart phones (like iPhone and Android), tablet computers, and a variety of operating systems for laptops and desktops (including Mac OS/X, Windows XP/Vista/7, and Linux)
We can also use proxy servers and etc.
