How to adjust notifications so that emails don't make a sound, but texts do...

One of our family members here at FF needs an easy tech support question answered regarding her Galaxy S4. We thought it was a good enough question to add to the forum. She wants to turn off the sound for her email notification, but keep the sound for her text notifications. How can she do that on this phone? Thanks!

What email app? Usually there's a setting for the notification sound in the app. Just set it to silent. That's what I've done for anything I didn't want to hear a notification.

Exactly. It is usually controlled from the individual app's settings.
