I know a lot of people have been struggling with this off and on today. I know I was... Thanks to Metickone's suggestions though, I finally got it working. So, the credit goes to him and to neubanks89 for his initial rom to get everyone excited.

I used this: http://db.tt/eFHnEBn from Koush's IRC as the base. You'll need to download that, wipe everything thoroughly, flash, boot, then flash this (no wipey): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9903887/Gingerbread-ReBaked.zip over it. Enjoy!

This does not have all of the Gapps in it, but most of the main ones. I got those from Metickone's FRG83D build. No force closes so far and the Market did update Googles and GMail with no problems. Hope this makes it easier for everyone! I know there will be WAY better builds soon, but this will give you a chance to have fun now...

I'm glad there's some excitement about this. LoL Almost makes me feel like it was time well spent. Keep in mind, my fellow Droid friends, that I am not a developer, but rather an avid enthusiast with WAY too much time on his hands. If there are issues, I really can't help too much. Plus, they are most likely because it is a new untested half build of an OS that is not even supposed to be released for our phones. Yet, here we are... Again, good luck.

I'm sorry, I am really not familiar with that Recovery. I don't see why you couldn't rename these to update.zips though. Changing the name doesn't change any feature of the actual package inside...
