My charge is rooted.. using ODIN 1.81, I think.. Currently using Gummy Kernel version 2.6.32.9 (se.infra@SEI-28 #1) Build EE4..

I found GB 2.3.4 here, downloaded the debloated version.

Do I copy the MD5 file to my SD card and just install it like the ZIP files in recovery?

you flash it with odin, its not a cwm file.
make sure to wipe data and cache before you flash or you could boot loop.

The MD5 extension is a checksum to make sure your file is complete, not a partial or corrupt download. The actual file extension is a .tar file. Essentially the TAR file with the MD5 on the end of it is a way for odin to make sure you have a good file to flash. TAR and MD5 files get used in odin or PST, it is only zipped for compression so the upload/download of the file isn't as laong because it's compressed into a smaller file requiring less space.

You do not place the MD5 file on your SD card or use recovery mode. This type of file is used to flash the phone using the ODIN tool via your computer. Check the "sticky" post detailing how to use the Odin tool and placing your phone in "download" mode. Be sure to read and understand the process 1st. While it is easy -- care in executing the steps and selecting the appropriate settings is required to ensure that you do not "brick" your phone.
