how do I uninstall the programs that come with the thunderbolt after I root?
You don't uninstall them. You can delete the apks. However, it is recommend you rename or freeze (using something like Titanium Backup) them in case you mistakenly delete something important.
sorry I am a newb, how do you delete the apks and back up...
Delete (if absolutely necessary) carefully. You now have root access and can do all kinds of things that can render the phone unusable (bricked), as others have succeeded in doing.
Have you done a Nandroid backup?

I really dont know how to do all that... is that an app? I just want to get rid of all the annoying apps that came with the phone lol
I just want to learn as much as I can about the root that I have done and all the possibilities that it can do now, is there tutorials on what and how to do these things?
Abe has some helpful links in his signature (see link below to one of his posts). Ignore the title of the thread. I have never really liked it.
#2 and #5 will explain a lot of the different rooting terms
#6 will tell you what you can do now that you have rooted.
