There should be an app called "Wireless Tether for Root Users". If not, download it from android-wifi-tether - Project Hosting on Google Code

Run it and click the big button. It should make an access point called AndroidTether available to another PC. You can tweak the options to change the SSID or WEP key, as well.

Yeah, I havent figured out how to use it, either via USB or bluetooth -- running Win XP.

A setup guide would be nice.

It's really just that easy, no guide needed.

    1). Open app
2). Push Giant Green Button that says "Press to start tethering"

That's really it. It's that easy. Now from a laptop, scan for wifi. You'll see AndroidTether as an option. Connect to it (no password needed).

To stop tethering, push the button again. You can get back to the app from the notifications list or from the normal apps list.

Same way you pick up any other wireless.

The tethering shows up differently than a normal wireless access point does, so if the PS3 only allows you to connect to normal access points, it might not work. Try it with a laptop, first.

Also, be careful about data usage. Tethering is against the terms and conditions of Verizon service, so if you go overboard with downloading system updates on the PS3, you will very quickly end up on their radar and they will charge you a lot of money for your data use.

Ahhh, that makes so much more sense. That's why it's called WIFI tether. I feel dumb now.

Now, is there any way to tether it with USB or Bluetooth, like PDANet?

That wifi tether app has bluetooth options as well, take a look through the options. I've had no luck setting that or PDANet up, though. No straight USB tether exists, yet (apart from PDAnet), but they are working on it.

There's no way to tether those to a PS3, though - the PS3 can only get a connection from an ethernet port or wireless.

Out of curiosity, why tether a PS3?

PDANet worked well for me, but I've figured the BT out with this one just now.

Assuming you're in Windows and the app is running in BT mode on the Droid:

    1. Run the BT setup wizard, and select "find a specific device and configure how computer will use it's services"
    2. Select the Droid
    3. It should show you 4 services, ActiveSync, Voice Gateway, Network Access Point, OBEX Object Push
    4. Select Network Access.
    5. Connect using the quick-connect option, or however you want
    6. Profit
