    I'm running Bugless. with Clockwork.

I keep getting the OTA alert, but I dont want to update thinking that it may mess up my system.

Does anyone know what I should do?

change system/etc/security/otacerts.zip to .bak and it should stop prompting you

From what I'm told that will ruin your battery with this update by constantly trying to re-download it. I'd trust Pete's fix.

Redownload what? Changing this will just disconnect the phone from getting the update

Sent from my phone... which happens to be a Droid X

Just going off what others have said, This ota update is somehow different then previous ones. And changing the zip to bak doesn't work like before. The phone keeps re-downloading the update. Thats my understanding anyway, but you'll prolly understand it much better then me.

If you accept the update, as long as you have SPrecovery or ClockWorkMod...either of those will stop the update from happening, and the notification will go away. I just did this this morning, and it worked. No problems.

Can we flash this on a phone that hasn't even gotten the OTA prompt yet, or do we have to wait for it? I ran it on my daughter's and it works great. I'm just wondering if I can go ahead and run it on my Droids that haven't gotten the OTA notification yet.
