How do I root my 1st generation droid?

    I am having a hard time figuring out how to root my droid so I can use a wifi tether. Can anyone explain it in plain english? Thanks.

    I used the universal androot app (not avaliable in the market) to root my milestone (gsm droid 1). It also allows an unrooting option but doesn't flash a new recovery. so really it will only let you run root apps and overclock. Try researching the Z4 root app (also not avaliable in the market).
