One of the biggest annoyances of my phone is that if the call log is up, even lightly brushing the screen will make a call. This has happened when the phone got turned on in my pocket, when I set the phone down on my desk, and various other inconvenient times.

I'd like to modify the UI so that if I want to make a call, I have to tap the "green phone button" on the screen twice. Where should I start looking to figure out how to do this?

How did your phone 'swipe' in your pocket?

Actually..this has happened to me several times too. I would also like to specifically have to hit the call button twice to make a call, or double-tap anything to confirm it.

So, the call log is up...

you somehow hit the power button

    AND

the call log happens to be up

    AND

You accidentally hit a name on the call log

    AND

You hit the next screen that comes us which gives you the option to CALL, text, etc.

to accidentally make a call... but think it will stop if you have to "double tap" once more after that to "confirm"? If the Droid is bouncing around in your pocket that much, my guess is that the double tap is only another jostle away.

But, I am sure that somebody could rewrite the dialer to work that way... I just doubt they will, because for every other use... that would be just another step to take in order to make a phone call.

I don't know about all that AND stuff, but I wasnt even in the call log and my phone has called people twice while in my pocket somehow. I have it on a belt clip now and i dont need to worry about it, but I know exactly what they are talking about.

My point was, butt dialing (or pocket dialing) may happen, but to change the OS to add clicks to call doesn't make sense (to me anyway)... that belt clip is a good answer to it though.

isn't the droid supposed to have a proximity sensor so the screen goes off in situations like u describe. nevertheless, a long press would be great for making calls.
