I just want to change the app drawer handle (those who've seen my changes can guess to what) but it's not changing in the way I normally do things. How do I need to get the apk swapped out using terminal emulator and root explorer????

    Thanks in advance!

pull the apk using adb or root explorer and modify all_apps_button_normal.png and the other two for pressed/normal/focused images. The apk is inside /data/app/com.fede.launcher.apk, so the adb command would be:

    adb pull /data/app/com.fede.launcher.apk com.fede.launcher.apk

This should copy the apk to to your tools folder in windows. After replacing the png's, uninstall the vanilla LauncherPro from the phone, push the modified apk back to /system/app/ and apply the right permissions:

    adb remount
    adb push com.fede.launcher.apk /system/app/
    adb shell
    chmod 644 /system/app/com.fede.launcher.apk

For some reason I didn't even think to look in /data/app/ folder. RE and then sync in TE, was way too easy!

Does it have to be signed?

And can you push it back with root exp?

Why, once you edit a launcher (adw, helix, etc.), do you then have to push it back to /system/app/ and not /data/?

Ived used root explorer before and it worked but best bet is adb. I don't think you have to sign it since your pushing it back to system/apps/. I think if you push it back to /data/app/ that's when it needs to be signed. I could be wrong on that.

No, you're correct. But putting it in /system/app/ allows users without adb or signing capabilities (such as myself) to make the modifications.

You don't have to sign an apk if you open it as an archive using 7zip.

I didn't think that worked, but will have to try.

In the newest version you dont have to push images to change any of them anymore. You can set custom icons. It rules.
