How do I keep my root

    If I do it and it doesn't work is there a way to go back?

    Eta: my voodoo root shows the same as in the screen shots so does that mean I'm gtg

    Thanks for the confirmation! Did you use 4ever root on .893?

    @evile84 try running an application that requires root, or I know that there is a free app on the market that checks root status as well.

    Well, I used the voodoo app and I did NOT keep root when I updated. Damn. :mad:

    I haven't heard a single success case with the voodoo app :(

    My phone is rooted now I just want it to stay that way when I update and before I update I want to make sure I am doing it right so I won't lose my free wifi tethering before I go on vacation

    Well, I lost root but I did keep my free WIFI. I used the method described here:

    If you root using ROTA893, it will survive the update to 901 or 902, has root and forever root built in.

    No that is not the one, ROTA893 is from Realbbb. Run a google search for it and it will come right up.
